Two of the SJHL's hottest offences faced off Friday night - and the Flin Flon Bombers came out on top.

The Bombers defeated Yorkton 7-5 in a roller coaster matchup that pitted the league's two highest scoring teams and two leading scorers - Flin Flon's Brandson Hein and Yorkton's Jared Legien - against each other.

Flin Flon would have to face Yorkton without their main goaltender. Pierce Diamond served the second game of a three game suspension for a fight against Weyburn's Riley Lamb during the Bombers' recent road trip, putting backup Jacob Delorme in the crease.

Nate Hooper started the party with an early goal, giving Flin Flon a 1-0 lead. That wouldn't last, as Legien scored two goals seconds apart later in the period to give the Terriers the lead after 20.

In the second period, the Bombers got on the scoresheet in a big way, tallying six goals in less than 20 minutes. Dawson McKenzie tied it up early on, then Daylan Marchi, Vincent Nardone, new Bomber Caleb Franklin and Hein each chipped in a goal. Hein added another marker late, making it 7-2 Bombers heading into the third.

The Terriers made the game interesting in the third period, with Cody Bruchkowski, Dino Antoniadis and Cody Dubas each beating Delorme, but the Bombers' defence held on to the lead.

Delorme made 28 saves in the win, while Yorkton goalies Ben Laidlaw and Ryan Ouellette made 19 saves each.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night at the Whitney Forum.
