It was a game to remember for the Flin Flon Bombers - and one Melville fans would rather forget.

The Bombers took down the Millionaires for the second time this week, winning 9-1 at the Whitney Forum.

Flin Flon opened the scoring halfway through the first period, with Caleb Moretz firing a cross-crease pass past Mils goalie Colby Entz. Four minutes later, Daylan Marchi snuck past the Melville defense and scored shorthanded on a breakaway, finding Entz's five hole.

After Jessie Young made it 3-0 Flin Flon in the second, Ryan Butler earned Melville's only offense of the night, getting credit after an odd bounce found its way past Bomber 'keeper Pierce Diamond.

From there, it was all Bombers. Marchi scored again later in the period, followed seconds later by Moretz. The fifth goal chased Entz from the Melville net, after facing 32 shots and making 27 saves in less than 30 minutes of work.

Entz's replacement, Berk Berkeliev, didn't fare much better. After the second intermission, the Bomber barrage began again, with Brandson Hein beating Berkeliev. Moretz then completed the hat-trick on a power play, with Hein adding a short-handed goal for good measure, capitalizing on a Millionaires turnover near the net. Vincent Nardone added his fourth of the year late in the third to end the scoring.

Berkeliev finished with 17 saves, giving up four goals. Meanwhile, Diamond earned the win with 34 saves.

Millionaires defenceman Eric Soar was ejected in the first period after a check from behind on Bomber captain Nate Hooper.

After Friday's game, Hein took over sole possession of the SJHL points lead, with 15 points through seven games. Hein and Moretz are currently tied for the league lead in goals, having scored eight each. No team in the SJHL has scored as much as the Bombers so far this season. The maroon and white have lit the lamp 36 times in seven games, averaging more than five goals per game.

The Bombers and Millionaires will face off again at the Whitney Forum on Sept. 29. After that, Flin Flon will play two more home games on Oct. 5 and 6 against the Kindersley Klippers.
