Chalk up another win for the Flin Flon Bombers - a 1-0 win over Estevan on Jonny Doogs Night.

Anyone hoping for an offensive showdown between two of the SJHL's most high octane offences would have been disappointed, but the game produced its own memorable moments regardless.

The Bombers scored the game's only goal in the second period, courtesy of new Bomber Tyler Higgins. Higgins scored his first SJHL goal, getting assists from Nate Hooper and Donavan Houle-Villeneuve.

Things got chippy in the third period, when Bruins forward Turner Ripplinger was ejected after a blow to the head, but cooler heads - and the Bombers - prevailed.

Pierce Diamond earned his second shutout of the season, making 23 saves. Bruins netminder Grant Boldt turned in 36 saves on 37 shots, but was stuck with the loss.

Flin Flon sits in third place in the Sherwood Division with 34 points in 26 games. Melfort and Nipawin are tied for the division lead with 41 points apiece, with Melfort having played 28 games to Nipawin's 29.

The Bombers will hit the highway for their next game in Nipawin on Dec. 4, before hosting the Humboldt Broncos on Dec. 7 and 8 at the Whitney Forum.
