While I have no desire to debate Mr. Thomas Heine's political views (letters, March 2), I do take issue with his statements about our local health care.
The clinic and the Flin Flon General Hospital have consistently offered my family excellent service. My husband received a timely diagnosis for cancer from his local doctor, and excellent follow-up care in Winnipeg.
My local nurse practitioner is thorough, kind and willing to take time to answer all of my questions.
When my mother died in the palliative care room in December, she received the very best treatment.
The doctor and nurses went above and beyond anything we could have asked. Their compassionate care of my mother, and of our grieving family, set a standard that other communities might envy.
I am proud of what we have here. Mr. Heine is so focused on his own disappointments he does not consider that others might feel differently.
