Dear Editor: We can hardly believe it's been three years since Derek packed his bags for Flin Flon. He could hardly wait to get there - playing for the Flin Flon Bombers was truly a dream come true for him. He loved the place right from day one - we soon understood why. After just a couple quick trips up there (since we also run with three other sons), we couldn't believe how many people we had met and how friendly everyone was no matter where we went in the community. Flin Flon is a very welcoming place and we brag about you guys all the time back home. We have met so many wonderful people that we know will be lifelong friends. Flin Flon, you were so good to our son - he loved living in your community and we loved visiting it. We have also told many people about the great camping and fishing places around there. We also have many good things to say about the coaching staff, the Bomber board, and Derek's excellent billets over the years. You were wonderful and so supportive, Derek's second family! Derek was also fortunate in having good employers - Eddie's Family Foods and McIsaac School. Last but not least, we really enjoyed watching the Bombers at the Whitney Forum and elsewhere. We love the enthusiasm of the Bomber fans! Seeing the moose legs the first time was quite an experience! Rob, you did an excellent job commentating! Tim, thanks for the write-ups in The Reminder. We read the paper off the Internet often. Bomber players, you provided us with such great entertainment over the years. You were so close to making the play-offs this year. Good luck next year and with your futures! Now that his SJHL years are over, Derek is planning to go on to Mount Royal College in Calgary to take an applied degree in Sports and Recreation and to play college hockey. If ever anyone is coming through Debden, Sask. one day, please look up the Blais family - we would love to have your visit! Louis, Anne, Daryl, Jody and Cory Blais
