BRANDON, Man. — Luka Burzan scored three goals and set up three more and Ben McCartney had a goal and three assists to power the Brandon Wheat Kings to an 11-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday in the Western Hockey League.
Ridly Greig and Cole Reinhardt each scored twice for Brandon (14-15-3) and Marcus Kallionkieli had a goal and two helpers. Jonny Lambos and Lynden McCallum also scored.
Tate Popple had the lone goal for the Warriors (10-17-1) in the second period to cut into a 5-0 deficit.
Wheat Kings goaltender Jiri Patera stopped 22 shots.
Adam Evanoff started in net for Moose Jaw, allowing five goals on 16 shots through the first period. Jackson Berry stopped 12-of-18 attempts the rest of the way.
