Police are blaming a toxic batch of ecstasy for the deaths of two men and the hospitalization of two women this week. Chase RCMP say they were called to a home on the Little Shuswap Lake reserve around 11:30 p.m. Monday on reports of a drug overdose.

A man, 19, who had taken ecstasy and smoked marijuana was taken to hospital on life support. He died Wednesday. Three hours after the initial overdose call, another one came in from a home on the Adams Lake reserve.

Paramedics found a man, 51, who couldn't be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
