It’s time for us to take a bow.

The Reminder had a successful run at the recent Saskatchewan Weekly Newspaper Association (SWNA) awards.

The Reminder won three separate categories and finished second in another category. The paper earned honours as Best Overall Paper in its circulation class, as well as winning the award for Best Editorial Page in its circulation class.

A story featured in The Reminder’s Oct. 17 edition called “Can’t slow him down: toddler thrives through rare syndrome,” earned the paper the award for Best Health Coverage. The article, written by Eric Westhaver, details the health struggles and healing of Nash Neufeld, a Flin Flon-area toddler who was diagnosed with the rare disorder KBG syndrome.

Lastly, a photo of Ecole McIsaac School student Lydia Alexander throwing a pile of leaves in the air during the school’s Terry Fox Walk last fall received second place in the awards’ Best People Photo category.
