The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce will head up north for two days this October to tour the town and get a taste of local flavours.

The stop is the first of three in a series of Economic Development Tours showcasing northern Manitoba. The provincial chamber is planning to visit Thompson in April 2020 and Churchill in July 2020.

“These tours provide select host communities with a chance to showcase their value proposition, and to uncover and foster potentially lucrative and mutually-beneficial relationships that may not otherwise exist,”the chamber’s website reads.

The Flin Flon tour will take place on Oct. 9-10 and will feature planned events, tours and meetings with local officials and Indigenous leaders.

“These tours provide select host communities with a chance to showcase their value proposition, and to uncover and foster potentially lucrative and mutually-beneficial relationships that may not otherwise exist,”the chamber’s website reads.

The chamber’s website features testimonials from business leaders about the benefits of these development tours.

“In my opinion, northern Manitoba couldn’t ask for a better champion than the Manitoba chambers, and I can think of no better way to expand opportunities for your business than participating on one of these excellent tours,”said Michele Geres, program director for the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, in a quote featured on the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce website.
