Possible COVID-19 exposures announced at Flin Flon Co-op store

People who attended the North of 53 Consumers' Co-op store on one of three days earlier this month may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Provincial health officials announced possible public exposures to COVID-19 at the Flin Flon store took place on May 14, 15 and 16 - from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. May 14, from 11:15 a.m.-6:15 p.m. May 15 and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 16. A person who was at the store during those given hours has tested positive for COVID-19 and may have been infectious during that period.

People who went to the store on the given dates and times do not need to self-isolate, according to public health, but are asked to self-monitor for symptoms. If any symptoms - such as a fever, cough, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, andvomiting or diarrhea for more than a day - do arise, people are advised to present for testing and to self-isolate.

The Co-op exposure is the first possible public exposure reported in the Northern Health Region (NHR) in almost a month and the first possible public exposure in the Flin Flon area to have been announced by the provincial government in several months.

The Flin Flon/Snow Lake/Cranberry Portage/Sherridon district reported six new cases of COVID-19 May 22, making it 16 new cases of COVID-19 announced in the past three days. According to provincial government statistics, there are 25 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.
