A pair of people are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant in The Pas uncovered thousands of dollars’ worth of contraband.

RCMP from The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) executed a search warrant on a home on Third Avenue in The Pas on March 24, working on information under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Inside the home, police found nine grams of methamphetamine, along with a number of illicit items including brass knuckles, knives, cell phones, a baseball bat, drug paraphernalia and Canadian cash.

A 48-year-old man from Winnipeg faces five charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of breaching probation. Another suspect, a 34-year-old woman from OCN, faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
