A 35-year-old man is in stable condition in Winnipeg after being hit by a car on Highway 10 Monday night.

Shortly before 10 p.m., Flin Flon RCMP officers, paramedics and first responders were called to a vehicle-pedestrian accident less than a kilometre from Flin Flon, not far the junction of Highway 10 and Highway 10A near Walmart.

A truck driven by a 59-year-old man from Schist Lake was heading out of Flin Flon when the truck collided with a man lying on the highway. The man on the road was identified by police as a 35-year-old man from Sherridon. The driver stopped immediately, flagged down another vehicle and called 911.

The 35-year-old man was taken to hospital in critical condition before being flown to Winnipeg. He is now in stable condition, according to a news release from RCMP.

Flin Flon RCMP and a forensic collision reconstruction expert continue to investigate the incident. No charges have been laid.
