Man arrested, faces arson charge after June 6 house fire

A Flin Flon homeowner is facing arson charges after a June 6 house fire on Rush Place. According to Flin Flon RCMP, a 54-year-old man was arrested June 6 and was charged with arson following a fire at a house located on Rush Place in west Flin Flon.

A Flin Flon homeowner is facing arson charges after a June 6 house fire on Rush Place.

According to Flin Flon RCMP, a 54-year-old man was arrested June 6 and was charged with arson following a fire at a house located on Rush Place in west Flin Flon. RCMP told The Reminder that man arrested was the owner of the building that burned, while officials with the Flin Flon Fire Department determined the fire was incendiary in origin.

The homeowner had his first court appearance in The Pas June 7.

The Fire Commissioners Office of Manitoba, Flin Flon RCMP and the Flin Flon Fire Department investigated the fire and items found at the scene.
