Flin Flon RCMP have arrested four people after a break-and-enter, assault and theft uptown – and they’re looking for a fifth alleged perp.

RCMP were called to a scene on Fifth Avenue uptown around 10:30 p.m. Feb. 3, with a person requesting assistance. On arrival, police were told that a group of five people had forced their way into the home and stole a television set. After grabbing the TV, the group left the scene.

While inside the home – occupied at the time by three people – one of the assailants assaulted a 40-year-old man with a weapon. The man did not require emergency medical services for his injuries.

Police responded further by arriving at a nearby house, where they found four of the alleged suspects, identified by police as 32-year-old Ryan Dumas, 35-year-old Benjamin Dumas, 26-year-old William Dumas and 30-year-old Noddena Dumas.

A fifth suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Rocky Bighetty. Police describe Bighetty as about 5-foot-4 and 154 pounds with short black hair. Bighetty also has noticeable tattoos on the top of both of his hands – an “11” on the top of his right hand and an “12” on top of his left.

Several of the offenders are known to police. Benjamin and Ryan Dumas were arrested by Flin Flon RCMP in connection to a robbery in uptown Flin Flon in January 2020 – the duo were described by police at the time as “habitual offenders”. Noddena Dumas and William Dumas were also arrested and identfied in June 2020 in connection with an incident of a woman having been assaulted and forcibly confined at an uptown Flin Flon home.

According to a Manitoba RCMP press release, all four Dumases face charges of breaking and entering with intent and robbery. Ryan, Benjamin and William also face additional charges of failure to comply with conditions – one count each for Ryan and Benjamin and six extra counts for William.

Anyone with information relating to Bighetty’s whereabouts are asked to contact Flin Flon RCMP at (204) 687-1423 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or at manitobacrimestoppers.com.

Information relating to the incident has been received from Manitoba RCMP. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
