Is Flin Flon a snowmobiler’s paradise? An online poll is determining what community deserves the title, once and for all.

Flin Flon has entered the final round of the Manitoba SledTown ShowDown, an online competition organized by snowmobiling publication SnoRiders, to determine the best areas to participate in the activity in each of the western Canadian provinces.

Flin Flon defeated The Pas in the first round of provincial voting, then Gimli in the second round. The third round, which pitted Flin Flon against Powerview-Pine Falls, ended with Flin Flon coming out on top. More than 8,000 votes were cast in the third round matchup, with Flin Flon getting by with 52 per cent of the vote.

The final round of voting began on Nov. 26, with two northern Manitoba locales going up against each other – Flin Flon and Thompson.

Only eight towns throughout the western Canadian provinces have made it as far as the two cities. Hudson Bay and Carrot River/Arborfield are the final two towns remaining in Saskatchewan, while Fox Creek and Edson will battle it out for Alberta supremacy.

Tumbler Ridge and Sicamous are the two areas left in the voting from British Columbia.

To vote, go to the SnoRiders web page. People can cast one vote per device per day.

The voting is open until Dec. 9.
