Still need a COVID-19 vaccine dose? Drive over to Creighton - a pair of drive-thru clinics are taking place Wednesday and Thursday at the community's four-way stop.

Doses of Moderna vaccine are being made available for both Manitoba and Saskatchewan residents July 28-29 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The doses will be made available for all people age 18 and over, including both first and second doses, with all people coming for a second dose needing to be 28 days clear of when they received their first dose.

While drive-thru clinics have been used little in Manitoba and not at all in Flin Flon until recently, they’ve been a recurring theme of Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 vaccination plans. Drive-thru clinics have been held throughout Saskatchewan, particularly in Regina, as a way to conveniently offer vaccines to people without needing to stand in long lines or linger in areas with large numbers of people indoors.

During the clinics, public health nurses provide doses to qualified drivers or passengers through their car windows without otherwise entering the vehicle. Occupants will have to remain masked during the immunization and the shots are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

People taking part in the clinics are asked to bring their health records and record of a second shot, wear a short-sleeved shirt and will need to wait for 15 minutes following the shot.

Drive-thru clinics have taken place previously at the four-way stop, along with a one-day vaccination clinic at Eddie's Family Foods in Flin Flon.
