Cases of COVID-19 in the prairie provinces continue to drop. Manitoba now has active cases in single digits, while Saskatchewan is seeing its lowest case load in more than two months.

Manitoba announced no new cases of COVID-19 May 30 and another five recoveries from the disease. This means that only nine Manitobans currently have COVID-19 province-wide. No Manitobans are currently in hospital due to COVID-19. Overall test numbers in Manitoba have risen past 43,000 since the outbreak began, with more than 700 tests carried out May 29.

The province's plan to move to the second phase of reopening June 1 is continuing as planned.

Saskatchewan reported four new cases of COVID-19 May 30, including three in the far north. That increase in cases brings the province to 645 total confirmed cases throughout the pandemic.

While four new cases were reported, 10 new recoveries from the disease were announced May 30, bringing the province down to 55 active cases. While the number of active cases is more than six times higher than the same figure in Manitoba, 55 is the lowest number of active cases reported in Saskatchewan since March 22.

Out of the 55 active cases, 38 are in the far north with another 5 in northern Saskatchewan. The remaining cases are in Saskatoon, Regina and communities in southern Saskatchewan.
