Members of the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce are moving the location of their public meetings.

The chamber will move their public meetings from the Flin Flon Aboriginal Friendship Centre to the Victoria Inn lounge effective April 16. The decision to switch venues came after chamber chose to cut their number of public meetings in half, going from a meeting every two weeks to once a month, from the second and fourth Tuesday of the month to only the third Tuesday. Chamber is scheduled to meet at the Friendship Centre on March 26, then switch to the new schedule in April.

“We came into a bit of a glitch when it came to our meeting location. When we changed the date, there was another group that had moved and now they hold their meeting (at the Friendship Centre) on the third Tuesday of the month,” chamber president Karen MacKinnon said at the organization’s March 12 meeting.

The Victoria Inn area seats just over 50 people, considerably more than the approximately two dozen business figures that attended the March 12 meeting at the Friendship Centre.

Chamber executive meetings will continue to be held at the Friendship Centre on the first Tuesday of each month.
