Businesses across Flin Flon are adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic that has forced Manitoba and Saskatchewan to declare states of emergency.
Both the Walmart pharmacy and Pharmasave are still open for regular hours. Pharmasave manager Corey Thompson said the store hasn’t needed to reserve time for older people to pick up prescriptions, but suggested retirees avoid the store between noon and 2 p.m.
“We’re encouraging people to get in and out as quick as possible and call ahead so we can prepare,” he said.
“Words never heard in retail… We need to stay healthy, as health care professionals.”
Thompson said Pharamasave has always delivered and will continue to do so moving forward if someone does not want to pick up in person.
The offices of The Reminder will be closed to the general public except for Wednesday morning for paper pickup.
Any person suffering from flu-like symptoms is strongly encouraged to remain home.
