Money raised from last summer’s Rotary Air Show will be donated to two local causes.

A total of $50,000 will be donated to the Northern Health Region’s emergency department, while $20,000 will be used to fund renovations to Rotary Court.

A motion was passed to confirm the funding allocation during the Rotary Club’s Nov. 22 meeting.

Funds from the summer event were intended from the beginning to be donated to the health region for the emergency department project. The 2016 Rotary Air Show also raised funds for contributions to the health facility.

The donation to Rotary Court is the third substantial contribution for repairs on the site in the past two years. The Rotary club received $15,000 in grant money earlier this year from the Northern Neighbours Community Foundation to fix the heating system at Rotary Court, one year after receiving a $10,000 grant to reshingle the roof and repair eavestroughs.
