The Flin Flon Ski Club has been recognized after a great competitive season.

The club was given a third place Most Improved Club award and banner at the Cross Country Canada annual general meeting last month in Canmore, Alberta.

The club received the award, given to small ski clubs, for showing the third-highest percentage of improvement in high performance races last year.

The ski club improved its results by more than 500 per cent from 2015-16.

Longtime club member Nick Martin, who now lives in Canmore, was on hand at the meeting to accept the award.

Only two clubs across Canada showed more improvement last year than the Flin Flon Ski Club. They were Menihek Nordic in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nickel Plate Nordic in BC.
