The two local 10-year-olds suited up at the recent Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament in Edmonton.

The close friends played for separate teams – Wyatt for Team Manitoba and Ryder for the Saskatchewan Jr. Pats.

Wyatt, from Channing, shone in the tournament, leading his team in scoring with 11 points in six games, including five goals.

He capped off the tournament with a five-point performance against Team California, earning a spot on tournament’s first all-star team.

Creighton resident Ryder ended the tournament with two goals in five games, scoring against the Chicago Jr. Blackhawks and Team Pennsylvania.

The boys didn’t get the chance to play against each other. Ryder’s Pats finished fifth of seven teams in the Wigston conference, while Wyatt’s Team Manitoba finished sixth of seven in the Styles conference.
