In the middle of a promotional tour for her new film The Love Hypothesis, Lili Reinhart gave a nod to one of the most memorable looks in romantic cinema by reinterpreting the famous yellow dress worn by Kate Hudson in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
On Instagram, the actress Riverdale shared a series of photos taken in Brazil where she appears in a long, buttery yellow silk dress that is instantly reminiscent of the one worn by Andie Anderson’s character in the 2003 film. To make the tribute even more obvious, she accompanied her post with the lyrics of the song You’re So Vain by Carly Simon and clarified that she was paying homage to Kate Hudson and this beloved 2000s classic.
However, despite the striking resemblance, this is not the original dress from the film. According to her stylist, Ib Abdel Nasser, Lili Reinhart instead wore a creation from the Caché brand dating from the 2000s, designed shortly after the release of the feature film and inspired by the famous dress by Carolina Herrera.
This nod also comes at a particularly interesting time since recent information indicates that a sequel to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is currently in development, with Kate Hudson involved as producer.
A vision!
