It was with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mom and Baba, Margaret Folwark on December 4, 2005. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, William on December 14, 1978 and brothers George and John German. She will be missed so much by her daughters Joanne (Garry) Davies, Patricia, Marlene (Ted) Dunsford, Teresa (Larry) McRae and Debra (Alan) Akister. Also missing their Baba are grandchildren Jennifer Davies, Natasha (Paul) Taylor, Andrew and Katherine Dunsford, and William and Brian McRae. Margaret leaves one sister, Mary Larocque as well as sisters-in-law Petrina, Anne, Adeline (Don), Rose, Lillian, and Sylvia (Lorne) and brothers-in-law Albert (Irene) and Mike (Liz) and their families. Mom was born in Endeavour, SK on August 28, 1920 and spent her early years between Endeavour where the family farmed and Govenlock, SK, where her dad worked for CPR. She married the love of her life, William Folwark, on July 27, 1944. Theirs was a true partnership. They lived, loved and raised their family in Flin Flon, where she remained until her recent death. Her most important job was being a wife, a mom and eventually, a baba. Her greatest joy was her family. Mom loved working with her hands - knitting, quilting and crocheting. She made countless mitts, sweaters, quilts and doilies and every member of the family has her handmade memories to keep forever. She loved games, cards and playing computer games. She professed that she was born 20 years too soon because she so enjoyed the computer. Mom was also an avid reader, especially enjoying historical accounts and politics as well as engaging in lively debate. Mom loved the cabin at Big Island and enjoyed having company and sitting on the back deck. She felt a special connection with Dad there and felt at peace with the world. She took delight in going for coffee and visiting with her friends. Mom was also a born leader. She was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada for 50 years, half of them as the president of the local chapter. Prayers for Margaret were held Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held Friday, December 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary''s Ukrainian Catholic Church with Father Djura G. Malijik as celebrant. Active pallbearers were Andrew Dunsford, Peter German, James Roznowski, William German, Eugene German and Erhardt Dzuibak. Interment was held Saturday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Valley Cemetery, Sturgis, SK. If friends so desire, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2 Hiawatha Street, Flin Flon or to a charity of their choice. Dadson Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Veechnaya Pamiat Eternal Memory The family of Margaret Folwark would like to thank everyone for the kindness shown to us at the time of our mother's passing. The lovely flower arrangements, food, phone calls and cards, the donations to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in memory of Mom and all other gestures of kindness were greatly appreciated. Thank you especially to the Antoniw families for always being there for Mom. Thank you to the parish of St. Mary's Catholic Church for continued friendship, kindness, prayers and the lovely luncheon. To Metro Lekopoy, Mom's snow/grass angel, who was continually there, to Lil Purich who helped with the cottage, to her neighbours both in town and Big Island for their friendship. A special thank you to the staff of the Flin Flon General Hospital, Dr. Groenewald, and caregivers. Your professionalism and caring made Mom comfortable to seek your advice and assistance. Thank you to Phil who offered his kindness and called the emergency team. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made Mom's life so full and rewarding. She was proud to call you friends. Thank you Dana Dadson and staff for your support. God bless you all. Joanne, Patricia, Marlene, Teresa, Debra and families 6/1/06
