In August, Rebecca Collier entered herself in a Boston Pizza (BP) colouring contest. To her surprise, she became the Manitoba winner of a trip of a lifetime to see the Toronto Blue Jays play on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Winning the trip was unbelievable. Becca said, “I didn’t believe it until Mom showed me the paperwork.”

There was a seventh inning stretch, the kids got to run the bases after the game and Becca met former Jays pitcher Ricky Romero.

Already a Blue Jay fan, Becca said the best things about her win were, “Getting to meet Ricki Romero, and going on an aeroplane.”

She came home with plenty of autographs on her jersey and on the large sign Becca brought, courtesy of Virden’s Boston Pizza, (the only BP to send along their sign to be autographed).

The moral of the story: you can’t win unless you enter the contest. Many colouring sheets may have been abandoned after families finished their meal, but that’s not what Becca did. She took home the colouring page, she filled out the paper work herself and sent it off to enter the contest.
