American model Presley Gerber, son of famous supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on Sunday at the age of 27, a family representative announced.
The cause of death was not communicated but the young man was in a detoxification center, according to the death notice available on the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s website.
“The family requests respect for their privacy during this ordeal,” said Cindy Crawford’s agent quoted by the media CNN and TMZ.
Born in 1999 in California, Presley Gerber was one of two children of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. Like his sister Kaia Gerber, he started modeling at a very young age, at the age of 16.
In recent years, he had spoken openly on social networks about his problems with drug addiction and his fragile mental health.
