Former Flin Flon Bomber Chris Rauckman took his hockey skills to the concrete this summer with Team Canada at the 2015 Inline Hockey World Championship.

The Alberta native returned to the championships for a second year with Silver under his belt and aiming for Gold this year.

Team Canada picked up the first place finish against Finland with a final of 4-2.

Rauckman picked up a goal and an assist in six games as Team Canada went 6-0.

Last year, Finland took Gold over Canada in the finals.

Rauckman aged out of the SJHL after the 2014-15 season and will now look to play with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers this year.

Commitments

Former Nipawin Hawk Reece Forman recently committed to the Minot State Beavers for the upcoming season.

The Salmon Arm, BC, blueliner aged out of the SJHL last season with the Hawks.

“Reece is a big commitment for our program,” said Beavers head coach Wade Regier, as posted on the SJHL website.

“He comes to us after having a great season leading the Nipawin defense in scoring this past year.  He has an excellent attitude and a great work ethic.  We look forward to adding his size into our line-up and expect him to make an immediate impact this upcoming season.”

Forman spent two seasons with the Hawks, putting up 28 points in 96 games with six goals and 22 assists.

Joe O’Brien has also committed to continuing his hockey career next year with the Niagara University with the Atlantic Hockey Association.

O’Brien will join the Purple Eagles in Lewiston, NY, between the pipes, with a legacy as a premier goaltender of the SJHL following him.

The Hawks won 37 games with O’Brien in net, he had a .926 save percentage.

He earned the Sherwood Division Goalie of the Year award for the 2014-15 season.

Adam Fauchoux, formerly of the Melfort Mustangs, recently signed with the Concorida University Wisconsin Falcons for the upcoming season.

Falcons head coach Jasen Wise is eager to have Fauchoux on the ice with the rest of the team.

“Adam’s high skill level and natural scoring ability with 30+ goals on the season will be a much valued asset to our power play,” Wise was quoted as saying on the SJHL website.

“Concordia has taken a major step forward adding Adam to our roster and he will be an elite player at the Division III level. We are excited to see Adam in royal blue and white this fall.”

Fauchoux spent the past two seasons with the Mustangs where he earned 89 points in 106 games, including 44 goals and 45 assists.
