Niverville's 10th anniversary was celebrated with a taekwondo tournament. Kang's Taekwondo Academy had 220 participants compete in the tournament that was held on October 2, 2005. "I was really impressed with the athletic level of our participants," said Flin Flon and area Chief Instructor Master Andy Jedele. "They proved that we work hard in class and having done our best, came home with a number of medals. The higher belts that went to the tournament also did their part by helping to referee, judge and time-keep for the competition. I am proud of their dedication to Taekwondo. I also appreciate the parents who attend and support our members." Assistant Instructor Master Christie Jedele said classes at times can be demanding, however, once participants have entered a competition and know they are prepared, they can be proud of their performance. "Our members showed that they are true taekwondo champions, having done their best, they learned to improve themselves even more,"she said. The tournament included board breaking, pattern competition and sparring. The following members attended: Master A. and C. There must be an agreement of two judges to award a valid scoring point. Higher belt members were there to referee, judge, coach and help to run the tournament.
