After six straight wins, it's back to square one for the Flin Flon Bombers. The Melfort Mustangs broke Flin Flon's six-game winning streak by handing the Bombers a 2-1 loss at Melfort's Northern Lights Palace.

Andrew Thompson tallied both of Melfort's goals, including the game winner in the third period. Kristian St. Onge scored Flin Flon's sole marker. Bomber goalie and last week's SJHL Goalie of the Week Zac Robidoux took the L after making 13 saves on 15 shots, while Melfort goaltender Evan Plotnik made 45 saves.

Jordan McCausland made his Bomber debut in Wednesday night's game. McCausland was acquired earlier in the day from the Yorkton Terriers for future considerations. Originally from Brandon, MB, McCausland scored five points in 20 games this season with Yorkton. He was held off the scoresheet in his Flin Flon debut.

Flin Flon still sits on top of the Sherwood Division with 34 points, five points ahead of Nipawin and seven points ahead of Melfort. The Bombers' point total is the fourth-highest in the league, behind only the Battlefords North Stars, Estevan Bruins and Humboldt Broncos.

The Bombers have a home-and-home series with Nipawin on Dec. 2 and 3, starting with a game at the Whitney Forum.
