How do you start a four-game road trip? If you're the Flin Flon Bombers, you start it with a win - a 5-1 win over the division rival Melfort Mustangs.

Scoring by committee was a major point in the Flin Flon win, as all five goals were scored by different players. Cory Thomas kicked things off with his second goal of the season, with Nick Shumlanski, Jordan McCausland and Tyler Nyman all scoring. Tyler Heidt scored a powerplay goal for Melfort in the second period, but it wasn't enough to stop the bleeding for the Mustangs.

Teal Sobkowicz also got on the scoresheet in his first game against the Mustangs, getting a goal and an assist. A deadline day acquisition for Flin Flon, Sobkowicz played the last two seasons in Melfort, where he won two straight Canalta Cups.

Mustang goalie Evan Plotnik had a night to forget, giving up four goals on 36 shots. Bomber goalie Zac Robidoux continued his recent streak of good form, making 25 saves for his 16th win of the season.

The win continues the Bombers' point streak to eleven games. Flin Flon has not lost a game in regulation in almost two months, earning 21 out of a possible 22 points along the way.

Despite the recent hot streak, the Bombers have some company atop the Sherwood Division standings. The Nipawin Hawks have also been on a roll, taking a nine-game winning streak into their next game. The Bombers still lead the division with 67 points, but Nipawin now has 61 with two games in hand on Flin Flon.

The Bombers will put their streak on the line Thursday night in Melville, where they'll face the ice-cold Millionaires. Now on a four-game losing streak, the Millionaires currently have the second-lowest point total in the league with 36. Only La Ronge has a lower point total.

After Melville, the Bombers will head to Wilcox for a Saturday night tilt with the Notre Dame Hounds, then finish off the road trip with a Sunday matinee against Estevan.
