Santa Claus came to the Mel Hegland Arena in La Ronge Friday night, handing the Flin Flon Bombers a 6-1 win over the rival Ice Wolves.

Rylee Zimmer and Troy Williams brought Christmas cheer for Bomber fans in the team's first game back after the holiday break. Zimmer tallied four points, including one goal. Williams scored twice in the win. Dondre Watson, Jordan McCausland and Jason Lavallee also scored for the Bombers.

It was a night to forget for the Ice Wolves goalie corps. Each goalie saw action in a game that saw the starter get the heave-ho-ho-ho in the first period. Aaron MacKay and Luke Lush shared the loss, seeing 54 shots in total. Meanwhile, Zac Robidoux held down the fort for the Bombers. A second period short-handed goal by Craig Pejkovic was the only blemish for Robidoux, who earned the win with 26 saves.

Two players on each side were ejected after fights. Rylan Tkachuk and Jarred Hicks dropped the mitts in the first period, followed in the third by Brandon Masson and Pejkovic.

The Ice Wolves received a lump of coal in the form of their sixth-straight loss, dumping them even further into the SJHL's basement. The Ice Wolves currently have a measly 17 points in 34 games, far behind the 30 points tallied by the second-last-place Melville Millionaires.

Meanwhile, the Bombers pad their lead atop the Sherwood Division with two points, taking them to 48 on the year. The win comes after two consecutive losses for the team before the holiday break.

Flin Flon heads back to the Whitney Forum for another game against the Ice Wolves on New Year's Eve.
