The Flin Flon Bombers opened their year-end road swing with a 4-1 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves, extending their winning streak to five.

Dondre Watson, Jason Lavallee, Mason Etter and Jordan McCausland scored for the Bombers, with Watson and McCausland each adding an assist. Tanner Brewster was the only Ice Wolf to get one past Bomber goalie Zac Robidoux, who made 33 saves.

Bomber Ben Lanfermann and La Ronge player Jeremy Velazquez were ejected in the second period after a fight. Lanfermann, who has now fought three times this year, currently leads the Bombers in penalty minutes with 70 on the season.

The Bombers played with assistant coach Gary Childerhose behind the bench, replacing head coach and GM Mike Reagan, who is currently coaching Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in Bonnyville, AB. Childerhose has gone 3-0 in Reagan's absence.

The win increases the Bombers' point total to 44, eleven points higher than second-place Nipawin. By contrast, the loss pushes the rival Ice Wolves further into the league's basement. La Ronge sits in last in the division and league standings with a mere 17 points, having six wins in 32 games.

Tuesday's game kicks off a four-game road swing for the Bombers, who will not be back at the Whitney Forum until New Years' Eve. The Bombers will face the league-leading Battleford North Stars for two straight games on Dec. 14 and 16, before heading to Kindersley on Dec. 17.
