The Flin Flon Bombers' winning streak is done after a 5-4 shootout loss to the Yorkton Terriers Friday night.

Greyson Reitmeier scored twice for the Bombers, who were down 4-2 to the Terriers in the third period. Two third-period goals by Kristian St. Onge and Nate Hooper tied the game for the Bombers, but McKenzie Welke scored the shootout winner for Yorkton.

Despite the shootout going for six rounds, no Bomber could find the net. Jason Lavallee, Nick Shumlanski, Reitmeier, St. Onge, Brandon Lesko and Jordan McCausland all missed paydirt. On the other side, Zac Robidoux was flawless through five shooters before Welke ended the game.

The loss is both the Bombers' first of 2017 and their first since the holiday break. However, the Bombers still earn a point, meaning they extend their points streak to seven games. Flin Flon now has 59 points on the season, ten ahead of Nipawin for first in the Sherwood Division.

The Bombers and Terriers will play again in Yorkton on Saturday night. The Bombers will then head back to Flin Flon for a game against Melfort on Jan. 24.
