The Flin Flon Bombers can't buy a win on the road.

Nipawin dealt the Bombers a 5-1 loss Friday night, with the home team getting a stranglehold on the game early.

The Hawks chased Bomber goalie Niklas Anderson from the crease with three goals on nine shots. Chad McCartney, Brandan Arnold and Michael Grant all flipped the red light on for Nipawin.

Relief netminder Reece Jones fared slightly better, making 15 saves in the second period before a pair of Nipawin goals by Grant Baetsen and Grant in the third.

Ethan Daniels scored Flin Flon's only goal of the contest. Hawk Thomas Lenchyshyn was ejected from the game in the third period after hitting a Bomber player in the head. Nipawin goalie Declan Hobbs got the win after an easy night in the Hawks crease, making only 16 saves.

Flin Flon starting goalie Brenden Newton did not play after reaggravating an injury earlier this week in practice.

The Bombers have one of the worst road records in the league. After winning their first away game this season in La Ronge, the team hasn't won a single game away from the Whitney Forum since, dropping nine straight on enemy ice. The Bombers have lost 11 out of their past 13 games and have been outscored 27-50 in road games this season.

Flin Flon will get some much-needed home cooking on Nov. 24 when they face Estevan at the Whitney Forum. The team will then play a rescheduled game against Melfort on Nov. 26, then another one on Nov. 29 against Weyburn, each at home.
