Bombers sign Brandon Lesko for upcoming season

The Flin Flon Bombers will welcome 1998-born forward Brandon Lesko to the lineup for the 2015-16 season.

The Flin Flon Bombers will welcome 1998-born forward Brandon Lesko to the lineup for the 2015-16 season.

The Hafford, Saskatchewan native dressed with the Battleford Stars of the SMAAAHL for the last two seasons where he picked up 80 points (30 goals, 50 assists).

Last season alone, Lesko brought in 54 points in 44 games.

The 6-ft, 180-lb forward helped guide the Stars to the SMAAAHL final – coming up short against the Regina Pat Canadians.

“We’re really excited about having a player with this type of caliber sign with us,” said Bombers head coach and GM Mike Reagan. “Brandon’s a great skater and has a great release. I have no doubt that he will be a great player in this league and become a scholarship player.”

Lesko comes to the Bombers as part of the Cam Blair deal from the 2014 Trade Deadline.

The Maroon and White bench won’t be unfamiliar to Lesko as he previously suited up for one game with the Bombers last season.

“There’s only a handful of players that can play as a 17 year old,” said Reagan, “let alone suit up as a 16 year old.
