The Flin Flon Bombers' road woes continued Saturday night with a 7-4 loss to Weyburn.

The Red Wings took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission, with goals from Jordan Kazymyra, Jevon Schwean and Jeremy Velazquez. Connor Beebe's first goal of the season was the Bombers' only first period marker.

Things didn't improve much in the second, with Ben Hiltz and Velazquez extending Weyburn's lead to 5-1 at one point.

Dylan Burton and Nick Shumlanski each scored to close the gap to two goals, but Landon Walters put the game out of reach less than four minutes into the third period. Burton scored again for the Bombers later in the period, while Hiltz added an empty-netter for Weyburn.

Bomber netminder Brenden Newton was pulled for the second consecutive game, making 16 saves on 21 shots. Replacement Niklas Anderson made 10 saves on 11 shots. Red Wings goalie Arik Weersink got the win, making 32 saves.

The loss extends the Bombers' losing streak to four games. The Bombers have yet to win a game during their current road trip, dropping all three games since leaving Flin Flon.

Flin Flon will also drop down to third place in the Sherwood Division after the loss, being leapfrogged by the Nipawin Hawks.

The Bombers will play Estevan Sunday night, before facing La Ronge on Oct. 20 and Battlefords on Oct. 21. The Bombers return to the Whitney Forum on Oct. 27 against Weyburn, where they'll hope to avoid a third consecutive loss to the Red Wings this season.
