Another chapter of the Hanson Lake Road rivalry has gone to the Flin Flon Bombers.

The Bombers claimed a 4-2 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves, earning their second victory of the year.

Bomber rookie Chrystopher Collin used the game as a mission statement, scoring a hat trick in his second SJHL game. Collin scored the Bombers' first three goals, finishing the Bombers' first weekend series of the season with four goals in two games.

Ice Wolves players Bryce Fiske and Jason Bednarski each scored for La Ronge. Dylan Burton added an empty netter for the Bombers to seal the win. Donovan Houle-Villeneuve and Bomber captain Ben Lanfermann each tallied an assist.

Lanfermann was ejected for fighting for the second time in as many nights, dropping the gloves with Ice Wolves player Braden Isbister after Isbister caught a Bomber with a hit to the head.

Brenden Newton earned the win in the Bomber crease, while Luke Lush tended goal in a losing cause for La Ronge.

The win gives the Bombers not only their second win of the season, but their eleventh consecutive win over their northern rivals, dating back to last season. It's been nearly a calendar year since the last time the Ice Wolves defeated the Bombers on Sept. 23, 2016.

The Bombers will not face La Ronge again until next month, when they will head to the Mel Hegland Uniplex on Oct. 20. The two sides will play another eight times this season.

Flin Flon will be back in action on Sept. 22, playing a home game against the Nipawin Hawks.
