The final 2018 spring luncheon was held on Friday, May 4, at the Viscount Gort Hotel in Winnipeg.
More than 90 guests were in attendance in the Viscount Room on the second floor. While this is a smaller room than the downstairs ballrooms, it was completely comfortable for tables of eight. There were lively conversations as friendships were renewed throughout the room. Bright blue and yellow napkins matched the small Flin Flon flags that were centerpieces on the tables.
We were thrilled to welcome some new and returning guests from far away. Betty (Donald) Hall & her husband Gary Hall were visiting from Victoria, BC. Joan (Plant) Reich and her husband Mel were here from Brandon and Bruce and Darlene (Stein) Reid drove in from Flin Flon. Helen (Booth) Sundstrom of Winnipeg was also a first time guest. Judy and Glenn Tamyn came from Moose Jaw, and Brian Row & his daughter Sandra Graves travelled from Flin Flon. Helen (Javorsky) Rutherford from Providence, Rhode Island, joined her sister Julie and other former Flin Flon friends. Finally, we are pleased to welcome back to Manitoba, Jennifer Hanson, and hope she will join us for future luncheons.
After a delicious roast beef dinner, accompanied by several hot vegetables, salads, and vegetable trays, guests enjoyed a variety of desserts, coffee and tea.

Our next luncheon will be held on Friday, Oct. 5 at 12 pm at the Viscount Gort Hotel. Cost of the lunch is $22 and is payable at the door. Please mark the date and plan to attend. We are always happy to welcome new and regular guests.
