Flin Flon voters head to the polls for Manitoba’s provincial election this Tuesday, April 19.

Polls will be open from 7 am to 8 pm. There are two voting locations: St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church (163 Centre Street) and Flin Flon Community Centre (2 North Avenue).

Residents on the voters’ list are not required to bring ID. These voters should have received a slip in their mailbox or door telling them where to vote.

Residents who are not on the voters’ list are required to bring ID. This should be either an official document issued by a federal, provincial or municipal government that includes the individual’s name and photo; or at least two other documents that provide evidence of a person’s identity.

In order to cast a ballot, a voter must have lived in Manitoba for a minimum of six months.

Advanced polls opened Saturday, April 9 and will remain open until Saturday, April 16 at the former Ukrainian Orthodox Church (2 Hiawatha Avenue).

There are four candidates running for MLA in the Flin Flon constituency: Leslie Beck of the Liberals, Angela Enright of the Progressive Conservatives, Tom Lindsey of the New Democratic Party and Clarence Pettersen, the incumbent independent.

Residents with questions on or before election day may contact the local returning office at 204-687-1240. They may also visit the Elections Manitoba website at
