SLGA grants coming to Creighton, Pelican Narrows

Creighton and Pelican Narrows are sharing in the latest round of Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) charitable gaming grants. For the third quarter of the fiscal year, Creighton Community Centre Inc. will receive $2,527.

Creighton and Pelican Narrows are sharing in the latest round of Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) charitable gaming grants.

For the third quarter of the fiscal year, Creighton Community Centre Inc. will receive $2,527. The group operates the Creighton Community Centre.

Elsewhere, the Pelican Narrows Emergency Team in the northern First Nations community will receive $1,532.

All told, SLGA grants for the quarter total $1.2 million in support for 700-plus organizations across Saskatchewan.

The charitable gaming grant program supports groups and organizations that conduct charitable gaming including licensed bingos, raffles, breakopen tickets, Texas Hold ’em poker and Monte Carlo events.  Groups and organizations receive a grant equal to 25 per cent of the net revenues raised from these activities.

Charitable gaming reports submitted by the groups are used by SLGA to automatically calculate individual grants.
