A gold property with strong drilling results near surface has been acquired by Rockcliff Copper Corporation.

The company announced the acquisition of the Berry Creek gold property near Snow Lake on Oct. 5, having entered into an option agreement that would see it earn a 100 per cent interest in the approximately 2,500 ha property.

“The property has already had limited historical drilling with excellent results very near surface,” Ken Lapierre, President and CEO of Rockcliff Copper Corporation wrote in an e-mail on Oct. 5.

“We expect to outline a first phase program of geophysics and geology which if successful will outline area within the property limits that could be worthy of drilling.”

There is potential for both high grade and low grade gold on the property. Exploration of the area is expected to commence in 2018.

The Berry Creek gold property is Rockcliff Copper Corporation’s fourth high grade gold property in the area. Earlier this year, the company acquired an option to earn a 100 per cent interest in the Laguna gold property. Exploration of the property is set to determine the viability of the mining property for the first time since 1939.
