Regarding the census results (“Communities should challenge census,” Local Angle, Feb. 22), I agree that Hudbay has almost the same number of employees as in 2004, but that’s because of the increasing amount hired in Snow Lake. This is also reflected in their population going up.
In Flin Flon, it appears that more young people are leaving and not getting jobs at Hudbay. In my own household in the last five years, we had five people but now have three. A loss of 40 per cent.
My daughter left to go to university for five years, and my youngest son moved to Swan River to find work there.
