The success of the inaugural Infusion Entre-preneurship Conference in 2016 has motivated organizers to expand the second annual version of the event, scheduled to be held in Flin Flon on Oct. 25.

The conference, hosted by Community Futures Greenstone in partnership with the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce and Flin Flon Credit Union provides Northern Manitoba business people an opportunity to rejuvenate their entrepreneurial spirit. John Bettger, community development and marketing coordinator for Community Futures Greenstone, said the organization expects high demand for ticket sales to continue, moving the organization to add seating.

“We had a great turnout last year and everyone enjoyed it,” Bettger said. “This year, we have seating open to 75 participants. We’ve expanded to allow more people because we had to turn people away at the door in 2016.”

The upcoming Infus-ion Entrepreneurship Con-
ference: Celebrating entre-
preneurship in the North will feature presenters on topics to help business owners further develop their enterprises including the power of tourism, money mindfulness and growing business using the power of social media.

Flin Flon entrepreneur Cathy Lofgren will share her experiences running several businesses in the north, while keynote speaker Stephanie Staples will deliver a motivational address touching on subjects including positivity in the workplace, how to build morale, developing a successful mindset and inspiration.

Staples is a nurse-turned-businessperson who won the 2014 Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Contribution to Community award. She is the author of three books on success and personal development and a broadcaster with a weekly radio show, ‘Your Life, Unlimited’. She also writes a regular column for both print and online periodicals, has produced two CDs on burnout prevention for nurses and successful thinking, and developed a mobile app called Life Support for Nurses.

“The main theme of Infusion is really bringing entrepreneurs in the north together and providing them with some tools to change with the times, such as business growth with social media,” said Bettger.

“Many people understand that, but don’t really know how to grasp it. We are developing entrepreneurs into being really financially stable and knowledgeable business owners while helping them adapt with the times. That’s a big thing.”

The 2017 Celebrating Communities Awards Evening will run alongside the conference at another venue that evening. This event honors members of the business community and volunteers for their work in several sectors of the Flin Flon region.

The Infusion Entrepre-neurship Conference will be held from 8 am until 4 pm on Oct. 25 at the R.H. Channing Auditorium. Tickets are available online at www.picatic.com/infusioncon or by contacting the Community Futures Greenstone office at (204) 687-6967.
