A Flin Flon mother and daughter’s $2.25-million lawsuit against an airline and an airport operator has made headlines.

Last week, CBC.ca summarized eight lawsuits that allege injury-causing wheelchair service problems at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

Among them was a suit filed by Isabell Mackie and her daughter Laurel, who allege Isabell did not receive wheelchair assistance as requested when the two women arrived at the airport for a June 2012 flight.

According to CBC, the suit claims Isabell tripped and fell on the ramp to the plane because of a steep decline and a gap between the bridge and the airplane, causing “serious and permanent injuries.”

The women’s suit is against WestJet and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, which operates  the airport. Both the airline and the authority deny any negligence, CBC reports.
